Feyenoord finalise Goor deal

UEFA Cup contenders Feyenoord have signed Belgian international midfield player Bart Goor.

UEFA Cup contenders Feyenoord have signed Belgian international midfield player Bart Goor from Hertha BSC Berlin, pending the results of a medical on Friday afternoon.

'Future foundation'
The 31-year-old has agreed a two-year contract with the option for a further year with the Rotterdam outfit. "Bart is an experienced left-footed midfield player who we can really use in [new coach] Ruud Gullit's system," said Feyenoord's technical director Mark Wotte. "We see him as one of the future foundations of the team."

Pleasure seeker
"I would really like to play here," added Goor, who counts KRC Genk and RSC Anderlecht among his previous clubs and has won 56 international caps. "I am 31 years old, but my ambitions have not changed. I had a good time in Berlin, but because of the bad results last season, the pleasure faded away. I hope to rediscover that pleasure back in Rotterdam."
