The 23-year-old joined the Spanish champions in 1999, but has subsequently played on loan at CD Badajoz, Paraguay's Club Libertad, Racing Club Avellaneda in Argentina, and latterly Cerro Porteño.
'Moment of joy'
However, Amarilla will now be added to the squad for Valencia's league and UEFA Cup campaigns. "This is a moment I have spent a long time waiting for," he said. "I just hope I can help the team. I feel that after spending time on loan at several big clubs, I have improved as a player and I will give my best to the side."
