Zauli strengthens Sampdoria hand

UEFA Cup qualifiers UC Sampdoria have signed veteran midfield player Lamberto Zauli from US Città di Palermo.

Veteran midfielder
Zauli, who has also played for Bologna FC and Vicenza Calcio in the Italian top flight, scored four goals in 27 games for the Sicilian side last season.

Two-year deal
Sampdoria have not revealed any financial details, but Zauli, who turns 34 in July, has reportedly signed a two-year contract. Walter Novellino's team finished fifth in Serie A to qualify for the UEFA Cup.
