Immediate move
The 25-year-old, who joined Lyon from FC Sochaux-Montbéliard in June 2004, agreed the deal on Wednesday and has immediately been registered with Lens. He will now be able to play in Saturday's northern derby against LOSC Lille Métropole.
Out of favour
Without a UEFA Champions League appearance this season, having been omitted from Lyon coach Gérard Houllier's plans, Frau could represent Lens in the UEFA Cup after their group stage campaign concludes at home to UC Sampdoria on 15 December.
January option
Lens need a win to be sure of progressing, but club president Gervais Martel is convinced Frau will prove a useful addition, saying: "He is an option for January when we'll have Issam Jemaa and Aruna Dindane going to the African Cup of Nations."
