'Dream come true'
The 20-year-old arrived in Spain on Friday to agree terms with the southern club, and did so inside two hours before watching yesterday's 0-0 draw against RCD Espanyol. "I'm very happy because it's a dream come true to play in Spain," Tardelli said. "I want to help Betis climb off the foot of the table. I can't promise a set number of goals, although I can promise that I will score as many as I can."
Punished
Tardelli has not played a first-team game for two months after his Brazilian club punished him for disciplinary breaches. "That behaviour is in the past," he said. "I've come here for a new life and would play immediately if it were possible. I can't wait to pull on the Betis shirt."
UEFA Cup draw
In order to register Tardelli as one of their non-EU players, Betis are expected to delist Ricardo Oliveira as the striker is ruled out for the season with a knee injury. Betis will learn their UEFA Cup Round of 32 opponents on Friday after being eliminated from the UEFA Champions League last week.
