Rangers hit by Burke injury blow

Rangers FC's Scottish international midfielder Chris Burke will sit out the start of the season after suffering an ankle injury on a pre-season tour. "He will be out maybe one month, maybe two months," said manager Paul Le Guen.

UEFA Cup doubt
The 22-year-old, who won his first two Scotland caps in May and scored twice in a 5-1 defeat of Bulgaria, therefore risks missing the opening games of Rangers' UEFA Cup campaign. The Glasgow club, third in the Premier League last term, kick off in the first round in September. Burke, a Rangers youth product, has made 61 league appearances, scoring seven goals.
