Laursen signs OB extension

Versatile defender Ulrik Laursen has extended his contract with Danish UEFA Cup contenders Odense BK by three years until the summer of 2010.

"I think this is a good way of showing that I want to stay with OB and take part in continuing the work that has been done here," said the 30-year-old, who started his career at OB before spending five years in Scotland with Hibernian FC and Celtic FC. He returned to Denmark in 2005. "This club is going through a fantastic period of development and I would like to be part of that for as long as possible," continued Laursen. OB secretary Kim Brink added: "Ulrik has an important part in our future plans. His professionalism is something we want all our players to aspire to."
