Three days after joining Rangers FC on loan for the rest of the season, Scottish international defender Andy Webster has picked up a knee injury that will keep him on the sidelines for six weeks.

Six weeks out
The 24-year-old centre-back returned to his homeland on Friday for the remainder of the campaign from Premiership side Wigan Athletic FC, whom he joined last summer from Heart of Midlothian FC. However, Webster - who has won 22 caps for his country - damaged his medial ligaments in training at the weekend and now faces six weeks out. The injury makes him a major doubt to face Hapoel Tel-Aviv FC in the UEFA Cup Round of 32 next month.
