Stress fracture
King, 26, had been making good progress in his recovery from a bruised fourth metatarsal in his left foot, which has kept him sidelined for the past month. He has now aggravated the problem, however, and Tottenham's medical team say they are treating it as a stress fracture. The centre-back, who has not played since the north Londoners' 2-1 home victory over Aston Villa FC on Boxing Day, has also been affected by a knee injury this season although he has appeared in 16 of Tottenham's 24 Premiership matches so far.
