Training injury
The 29-year-old, capped three times by France, is unlikely to feature again until the autumn after fracturing his right fibula in training on Monday. He played in 29 league games last season without scoring as Rennes finished fourth in Ligue 1 to qualify for the first round of the 2007/08 UEFA Cup. Moreira’s injury comes hot on the heels of a serious injury to 21-year-old midfielder Romain Danzé, who faces six months on the sidelines after tearing cruciate ligaments in his left knee during training.
