Bolton Wanderers FC have signed FC Nantes Atlantique's Swedish international winger Christian Wilhelmsson on a year-long loan with a view to a permanent move.

Bolton Wanderers FC have signed FC Nantes Atlantique's Swedish international winger Christian Wilhelmsson on a year-long loan with a view to a permanent move.

Second loan
The 27-year-old arrives in England from relegated French club Nantes having had a loan spell at AS Roma during the second half of last season – making 19 Serie A appearances.

'Coup for Bolton'
Bolton manager Sammy Lee said: "The English game suits his style. He has the potential to light up the Premier League with his pace and skill. Other big clubs have shown an interest so it is a major coup for Bolton." Wilhelmsson had joined Nantes from RSC Anderlecht last summer but played only 13 games in Ligue 1. Bolton will enter the UEFA Cup first round after finishing seventh in the Premier League.
