Helguson to help Bolton up front

Iceland striker Heidar Helguson is the first new addition to the forward line at Bolton Wanderers FC this summer despite the club being busy in the transfer market.

Iceland striker Heidar Helguson has left Fulham FC to join English Premier League rivals Bolton Wanderers FC on a three-year contract.

Striking options
Bolton, who will play in the 2007/08 UEFA Cup first round after finishing seventh last season, have been rebuilding under new manager Sammy Lee. The 29-year-old Helguson, who moves for an undisclosed fee, will be the first new addition to Lee's options up front with the forward line already boasting Nicolas Anelka, Kevin Davies and Ricardo Vaz Té. Lee said: "He has good overall ability and adds quality to our squad in a key area." Helguson, with six goals in 40 games for Iceland, spent two seasons at Fulham after spending the previous six campaigns at Watford FC. Bolton have already signed defenders Jlloyd Samuel and Gérald Cid, along with midfielders Danny Guthrie, Gavin McCann, Blerim Dzemaili and Mikel Alonso.
