Nikl leaves Nürnberg for Prague

Five-times capped former Czech Republic international full-back Marek Nikl has left UEFA Cup hopefuls 1. FC Nürnberg to rejoin CU Bohemians Praha.

The 31-year-old has returned to the club he left to join Nürnberg in 1998 after finding his first-team opportunities limited in the Bundesliga. Having previously scored nine goals in 141 Bundesliga games for the club, and seven more in 87 second tier games, Nikl found himself playing in Nürnberg's fourth-tier reserve side this season. Bohemians are currently 13th in the Czech league. Nürnberg take on FC Rapid Bucureşti in the opening leg of their UEFA Cup first round tie at the Frankenstadion on Thursday.
