Metatarsal woe for Napoli's Bogliacino

SSC Napoli midfielder Mariano Bogliacino has been ruled out for two months after fracturing the fifth metatarsal in his left foot in a UEFA Intertoto Cup win.

Surgery
The 28-year-old Uruguayan scored the only goal of the first leg in Athens but left the field 74 minutes into the return in Naples after taking a blow to his foot. Bogliacino faces surgery on Wednesday and is expected to miss the opening five Serie A matches of the season and Napoli's bid to reach the UEFA Cup group stage.
