Moroccan international Michaël Chrétien has signed a new two-year contract with AS Nancy-Lorraine, committing to the UEFA Cup hopefuls until 2012.
'Great years ahead'
The 24-year-old right-back has been linked with several leading sides over the summer after catching the eye in his sixth season as a Nancy first-team regular. Chrétien played 30 games as his hometown club finished fourth in Ligue 1, and with a UEFA Cup first-round tie in the offing he has decided to postpone any dream move to Spain. "A transfer to La Liga is not possible at the moment as I am 100 per cent behind Nancy," said the former French youth international, who now represents his father's birthplace, Morocco. "The club wanted me to stay and I am confident we have great years ahead."
