Happy homecoming
The 39-year-old has returned to the Rotterdam club where his career began, signing a season-long deal to provide competition for No1 Henk Timmer. "It is great, at my age, to come back to Feyenoord," said Van Dijk. The keeper links up again with coach Gertjan Verbeek, his boss last term at Heerenveen, at Feyenoord, who will play Swedish side Kalmar FF in the UEFA Cup first round.
Hofs loan
Van Dijk made four league outings for Feyenoord before spending the majority of his playing days with RKC Waalwijk, recording 267 league appearances. He has also represented PSV Eindhoven and De Graafschap. Meanwhile, Feyenoord have loaned attacking midfielder Nicky Hofs, 25 to BV Vitesse for the season and terminated the contract of Tunisian defender Karim Saidi by mutual consent.
