VfL Wolfsburg are setting their sights high after confirming top spot in UEFA CUP Group E with an excellent 2-2 away to Italian heavyweights AC Milan on Wednesday night.

Forward thinking
Twice Wolfsburg hit back after falling behind to earn a point, with goals from Cristian Zaccardo and substitute Mahir Sağlık cancelling out efforts from Massimo Ambrosini and Pato. The result, following victories against SC Heerenveen, SC Braga and Portsmouth FC, means Wolfsburg go into Friday's draw undefeated in the section and bursting with confidence. "The knockout rounds start now and we want more success," striker Zvjezdan Misimović said.

Magath delight
The Bundesliga outfit's coach Felix Magath was understandably thrilled with his side's performance, meanwhile. "Milan are a top team and it was a great showing by my men to get a draw after after twice trailing," he said. "We played very well in the second half especially and even had chances to win."

'So excited'
Wolfsburg looked to be heading for defeat after Pato had restored Milan's advantage on 56 minutes, but they fought back tirelessly and earned their reward when Sağlık deflected Jacek Krzynówek's strike in with nine minutes to play. "It's like a dream for me to be allowed to play against the great AC Milan and then to score the crucial goal to make it 2-2," Sağlık said. "I'm so excited. I thank the coach for his trust in me. I'm happy we finished the group stage in first place."
