Hamburger SV have signed midfielder Marcel Ndjeng on loan from VfL Borussia Mönchengladbach until the end of the season after the 26-year-old impressed during a spell training with Martin Jol's team.
'I like his style'
A key player as Mönchengladbach secured a return to the Bundesliga last term, Ndjeng was a regular this season before falling out of favour at the end of November. He has been training with Hamburg in a bid to stay fit and impressed enough to earn a switch to the Hanseatic side after reaching an agreement with Mönchengladbach, one that could bring UEFA Cup football as HSV are set to face NEC Nijmegen in the Round of 32 next month. "I watched this player while I was coaching in England and he was in the 2. Bundesliga," former Tottenham Hotspur FC manager Jol said of Ndjeng. "I like his style of play, his ability to put in really good crosses which create danger." Ndjeng is contracted to Bundesliga strugglers Mönchengladbach until June 2010.
