Mikhalik facing six months out

FC Dynamo Kyiv captain Taras Mikhalik faces six months on the sidelines following an operation in Belgium to repair a damaged meniscus, ruling the defender out of the remainder of the Ukrainian club's UEFA Cup campaign.

FC Dynamo Kyiv captain Taras Mikhalik faces six months on the sidelines following surgery to repair a damaged meniscus.

PSG test
The 25-year-old defender sustained the knee injury during a 2-0 league victory at FC Metalurh Donetsk on 5 April and went under the knife in Belgium yesterday. Mikhalik will sit out the remainder of Dynamo's UEFA Cup campaign and Ukraine's vital FIFA World Cup qualifier away to Croatia on 6 June. Dynamo host Paris Saint-Germain FC on Thursday in the second leg of their quarter-final after drawing 0-0 in France.
