PSV Eindhoven have bolstered their squad ahead of Thursday's UEFA Europa League third qualifying round first leg against PFC Cherno More Varna by signing defender Stanislav Manolev from PFC Litex Lovech for an undisclosed fee.
'Versatile player'
Capped five times by Bulgaria, Manolev has penned a three-year contract with the Eredivisie outfit with the option for two more. The 23-year-old started his career with his hometown club, PFC Pirin Blagoevgrad, before moving to Litex in 2005, winning the Bulgarian Cup in 2008 and 2009. "He is a versatile player, at a good age," said PSV coach Fred Rutten, who has also drafted in André Ooijer and Orlando Engelaar this summer. "He is a willing guy, with a good character. He has certain qualities that will suit our team fine."
