KKS Lech Poznań midfielder Kamil Drygas has been ruled out for the rest of the UEFA Europa League group stage after breaking his leg.
The 19-year-old suffered the injury during Sunday's 2-0 Polish Ekstraklasa loss at Górnik Zabrze which left Lech in 14th position, and was immediately taken to hospital. Examinations confirmed a break and Drygas will not play again in 2010. "Unfortunately our worst fears have been realised," said Lech doctor Andrzej Pyda.
In contrast to their domestic form, Lech are second in UEFA Europa League Group A. They will hope to remain in the top two after completing their fixtures at home to Manchester City FC on 4 November and Juventus on 1 December, then away to FC Salzburg on 16 December.
