Right-back Christian Schwegler will miss the remainder of FC Salzburg's UEFA Europa League campaign having been being ruled out until 2011 after tearing sinews in his thigh during training.
The 26-year-old former FC Luzern and BSC Young Boys player has been sent for surgery to correct the issue, and is sure to miss his side's remaining Group A fixtures at Manchester City FC and at home to KKS Lech Poznań. Well-known for his long throw-ins, he has made 14 league appearances this season and played in all four of Salzburg's group fixtures, and five more games in UEFA Champions League qualifying.
