UEFA Europa League contenders SC Braga have signed defender Marco Ramos from RC Lens.

The French-born 27-year-old of Portuguese nationality has agreed a contract until summer 2013 to play in the Liga for the first time. "I am very proud of playing for such a big club as Braga as I will return to 'my' town – my parents are from Braga and live there," he said.

"I am very excited about this opportunity as Braga's recent achievements have been praised all over Europe," Ramos added. "I feel I am privileged to wear this shirt." Braga, having finished third in their debut UEFA Champions League group, face KKS Lech Poznań in the UEFA Europa League round of 32 on 17 and 24 February.
