FC Twente midfielder Wout Brama has agreed a new contract that ties him to the Dutch champions until 2014. The 24-year-old had 18 months remaining on his previous deal but was happy to extend an association that began when he joined the club's youth academy in 1999 at the age of 12.

"At FC Twente I want to contribute to continuing our performances of recent seasons. I am proud to have the chance to play at this club. I am appreciated here and feel good here," said Brama, who made his Twente debut in 2005 and played in 31 of their 34 Eredivisie matches last season as the club claimed their first league title. Michel Preud'homme's team are currently second in the table behind PSV Eindhoven as they look to retain their crown.

Capped three times by the Netherlands, Brama featured in five of their six UEFA Champions League group stage games before Christmas and recently made his 200th appearance in all competitions for 'De Tukkers'. After finishing third in their UEFA Champions League group behind Tottenham Hotspur FC and FC Internazionale Milano, Twente will now face FC Rubin Kazan in the Round of 32 of the UEFA Europa League.
