Mark Hughes has resigned as manager of Fulham FC after only a season in charge at Craven Cottage.
The former Wales, Blackburn Rovers FC and Manchester City FC boss was appointed by Fulham at the start of the 2010/11 campaign following Roy Hodgson's departure. He led them to an eighth-placed Premier League finish, but will leave the club at the end of June after serving a month's notice.
"As a young, ambitious manager I wish to move on to further my experiences," said the ex-Manchester United FC, FC Barcelona and FC Bayern München striker. "I believe my management team and I have done a good job and the club has a strong foundation from which they can go forward."
Fulham have earned a place in the first qualifying round of the 2011/12 UEFA Europa League through the domestic fair play league, after England were granted one of the three additional places in the competition via the UEFA Respect Fair Play rankings.
