FC Metalist Kharkiv have bolstered their South American contingent with the signing of midfielder José Ernesto Sosa from SSC Napoli for an undisclosed fee.
The 26-year-old has agreed a four-year contract with the Ukrainian Premier League club and in doing so becomes the sixth Argentinian on their books alongside Marco Torsiglieri, Juan Manuel Torres, Cristian Villagra, Sebastián Blanco and Jonathan Cristaldo. He will wear the No11 shirt.
The former Club Estudiantes LP player began last season with FC Bayern München, whom he joined in 2007, but having moved to Napoli in late August made only seven league starts as the Partenopei qualified for the UEFA Champions League group stage. An Olympic gold medallist in 2008, Sosa has been capped seven times by Argentina.
His new employers will begin their UEFA Europa League campaign in the play-offs following a third-place finish in the Ukrainian top flight last season.
