Nicklas Helenius, AaB forward
It was nice to score again. Strikers are always measured on how many goals they score and I have always wanted to decide games. It is a pressure I like but I have not managed to live up to the pressure since I came home from Aston Villa this summer. Today I had a good feeling because I played a good match for the reserves earlier this week and I brought that form with me. I also played better because we played well as a team. I hope we can continue playing this well.

Things would have been quite bleak if we had not won this game today but now it looks very bright and we have a very good chance of beating them again in Portugal. We showed in the first half against Steaua that we can compete with them. Dynamo Kyiv are maybe the strongest team in the group but we can hope to play a good match at home to them and get a point from it. This win today gives us faith and desire to go through to the knockout stage.

Rasmus Würtz, AaB midfielder
We played a very good game today and showed good discipline. We kept them away from scoring and got to score a nice goal ourselves and got the three points so we are back in the group again. We needed to get the three points today if we wanted to stay in the battle for proceeding to the knockout stage, so it is a big relief. Mentally it gives confidence to win games and I hope we can take it with us to the coming matches because it is needed. We are going to face some tough sides.

It is nice to show that we are capable of playing at this level. It was important to rise again after a big defeat in the match. We have to go through to the knockout stage. We aim to do that.

André Vilas Boas, Rio Ave midfielder
We are feeling sad. We lost even though we tried our best to win. We fought for the entire match. AaB are a good team, they are Danish champions and we know they have good players but we tried everything and we did not score. They scored very early in the second half, and then it was easier for them to play their game because they were winning. We tried very hard to score the equaliser but today was not our day.

Emmanuel Boateng, Rio Ave forward
We came with the determination to win the game. It was never in our minds to lose. We started very well but by the beginning of the second half we lost concentration so we learned a lesson from this. I will not say that AaB are a better side than us. It was just bad luck that they won. We were convinced that we could come here and win the match and we were very determined. For sure we should have won this game in order to have a good chance of proceeding.

It is very difficult for us now to proceed after two defeats. It was not in our plans. We came here to win. But that is football. I think we have a great team. Even if we lose we have the determination to win the next game.
