Dynamo Kyiv v Guingamp background

FC Dynamo Kyiv have performed well at home in Europe this term, but their record against travelling French sides is not all that impressive – EA Guingamp are lurking.

FC Dynamo Kyiv will need to continue their impressive European home form if they are to challenge EA Guingamp in the second leg of their UEFA Europa League round of 32 tie.

Previous meetings
The sides met for the first time in the first leg, which was Guingamp's first exposure to Ukrainian opposition. The Ligue 1 side fell behind on 19 minutes but two second-half goals in quick succession – from Claudio Beauvue and Moustapha Diallo – gave them an advantage to take to Ukraine.

Dynamo do not have a great home record against French sides: W2 D3 L3. They have won only one of their last seven home fixtures against Ligue 1 sides.

Form guide
Dynamo have won all three of their UEFA Europa League home games this season by two-goal margins.

Guingamp's 2-1 success against PAOK FC on matchday six ended a seven-game wait for a European win on the road, stretching back to a 1996 success against Georgian side FC Kolkheti Poti.

• Since reaching the quarter-finals in 2010/11, Dynamo have failed to survive beyond the round of 32 in two attempts, bowing out to FC Girondins de Bordeaux (2012/13) and Valencia CF (2013/14).

Trivia and links
Guingamp are the only team in the round of 32 who are experiencing the spring phase of a UEFA competition for the first time.

• On matchday five of the group stage, goalkeeper Olexandr Shovkovskiy made his 582nd outing for Dynamo, breaking Oleh Blokhin's club appearance record.

Dynamo's Lukman Haruna and Dieumerci Mbokani both plied their trade in Ligue 1 with AS Monaco FC, while Younes Belhanda started his career at Montpellier Hérault SC.

The coaches
Dynamo boss Serhiy Rebrov formed a deadly attacking partnership with Andriy Shevchenko for the Bilo-Syni, though his goals dried up somewhat after moving abroad. Having retired in 2009, Rebrov took a job with Dynamo's youth team, but became head coach in May 2014 after a successful caretaker spell.

• A losing UEFA Cup finalist as an Olympique de Marseille midfielder in 1999, Jocelyn Gourvennec played for several clubs across France but returned to his native Brittany to take charge of Guingamp in 2010, leading them to their second French Cup triumph in 2013/14.
