Fiorentina remain top of Serie A after a day of domestic games for the UEFA Europa League contenders that also brought painful losses elsewhere and a managerial sacking at Liverpool.
Paulo Sousa's Fiorentina caught the eye again as they dispatched Atalanta 3-0 to stay two points clear of Internazionale, with Sunday's action in Italy likewise bringing a 2-0 success for Group G leaders Lazio and a 4-0 triumph at AC Milan for Napoli that featured a pair of Lorenzo Insigne goals.
There was no such joy for Liverpool, however, as they could only draw 1-1 with Everton in the Merseyside derby, which proved to be Brendan Rodgers' last game at the Reds helm. Elsewhere, Liga leaders Villarreal suffered their first defeat, Dortmund, lost 5-1 at Bayern München, Marseille succumbed 2-1 at arch-rivals Paris Saint-Germain and Ajax's unbeaten start to the season was ended by PSV Eindhoven.
Skënderbeu, Dinamo Minsk, Asteras, APOEL and Partizan all played on Monday
