Celta Vigo are on a roll after following up their UEFA Europa League matchday two success with an eye-catching 4-3 victory against Liga giants Barcelona.
The Galician outfit beat Panathinaikos 2-0 on Thursday, but they surpassed that result with their fourth consecutive triumph in all competitions, running up a 3-0 lead against Barça with 33 minutes gone. The visitors responded twice after the break, but Pablo Hernández restored a little cushion before Gerard Piqué ensured a nervy finish.
Schalke enjoyed a victory to remember as well after finally grabbing their first Bundesliga points this season at the sixth time of asking. They did it in style too, summer signing Breel Embolo registering twice in a 4-0 defeat of UEFA Champions League contenders Mönchengladbach.
In the Eredivisie, Feyenoord maintained their 100% record thanks to a 2-0 triumph at Willem II, while Ajax made it eight wins in a row across all competitions. Elsewhere, Roma edged Internazionale 2-1 in the big game in Italy, and Manchester United were held 1-1 at home by Stoke.
