FC Zenit St Petersburg left-back Domenico Criscito will be out for a minimum of six months due to a knee injury.
The 26-year-old Italian international picked up the damage on Thursday during a friendly game against AC Siena. He left the game on a stretcher and Zenit coach Luciano Spalletti subsequently said: "Domenico tore cruciate knee ligaments and will undergo surgery." The former Genoa CFC defender, who has made 12 Russian Premier League appearances this term, will therefore miss the rest of Zenit's title run-in and UEFA Europa League campaign.
Spalletti's side go to FC Basel 1893 for the first leg of their round of 16 tie on Thursday and return to domestic action at FC Rubin Kazan three days later.
