'This rewards everyone'
The 22-year-old midfield player, who has won eleven caps for France, has agreed a new deal until June 2006. A much-coveted player, Pedretti had made it clear he would extend his contract with Sochaux if he did not leave the club during the summer transfer window. Pedretti said: "This rewards everyone, the club and its coaches, and me too as we have agreed better terms."
Dortmund test
"I am very grateful with Benoît who kept his word and decided to stay longer with us," said club president Jean-Claude Plessis. "He was also one of the lower-paid players in the team. It's good that we made things official [with Pedretti] ahead of our UEFA Cup match with [BV] Borussia Dortmund.'' Sochaux face Dortmund in the first leg of their UEFA Cup second-round tie on Thursday.
