The left-back will be sidelined for a month after injuring his right thigh in training today. The German Under-21 international joined Udinese last year from Eintracht Frankfurt and played 26 games in Serie A in the 2002/03 campaign as Udinese finished sixth.
Bench duty
This term, the 22-year-old Gemiti has made two league appearances but was only a substitute when Spalletti's side won 1-0 in Salzburg last month. The return will be played at Udinese's Friuli stadium on 15 October.
