Shevchenko, 53, signed a short-term deal when he took over from Slavoljub Muslin during the winter break, but the club have decided against offering him a new contract.

"Shevchenko has gone home to Moscow," said Metalurh director Yury Gryadushchy. "We are holding negotiations with a number of coaches, including some foreign ones."
