Stojkovic takes Crvena Zvezda helm

Current FA of Serbia and Montenegro chief Dragan Stojkovic has been elected president of FK Crvena Zvezda.

'A vision'
The 40-year-old has taken charge on a five-year basis. "The club's general assembly did not just elect a man, but also a vision. The programme I have presented should be realised over the next five years. Zvezda must always come first and we will do everything we can. Our obligation is to stand side by side with the top European clubs, but we must also create a feeling of unity here," said Stojkovic.

European Cup defeat
The former Crvena Zvezda player will stand down as president of the FSSCG in September, when his term of office ends. Ironically, Stojkovic was in the Olympique de Marseille team beaten by the Belgrade club in the 1991 European Champion Clubs' Cup final.
