Arriving from the EU/Schengen Area

You can enter Austria with your passport or national ID card if you are an EU or Schengen citizen.

Arriving from outside the EU/Schengen Area

Youโ€™ll need a valid passport to go through border control. Ensure your passport meets entry requirements for the Schengen Area and check whether you require a visa. For more information, visit Austriaโ€™s government website. At the border, expect biometric checks (fingerprints and photo) under the EUโ€™s new Entry/Exit System (EES).

Salzburg Airport (SZG) is located around 10km southwest of the city centre. The journey into central Salzburg takes around 30 minutes using bus lines B2, B10, B180, B181 or B260.

Commercial flight connections to Salzburg are limited, so you may find more options via Munich Airport (MUC), Vienna Airport (VIE), Linz Airport (LNZ), Graz Airport (GRZ) or Innsbruck Airport (INN), all of which have convenient public transport connections to Salzburg.

Salzburg Main Station is a major transport hub with direct connections to major cities across Austria and neighbouring countries. From the station, itโ€™s easy to reach the city centre on foot or by local public transport. To find the latest train times and book tickets, visit oebb.at.

Long-distance buses connect Salzburg with many destinations across Austria and Europe. Most services arrive either next to Salzburg Main Station or at Salzburg South Park + Ride.

If youโ€™re staying overnight in the province of Salzburg, you will receive a Guest Mobility Ticket, which provides free access to public transport throughout the province for the duration of your stay, including city transport, regional buses and trains. Public transport in Salzburg is also free on matchday for all UEFA Super Cup ticket holders.

Salzburgโ€™s compact, pedestrian-friendly city centre is best explored on foot, with most landmarks just a short stroll apart.

The cityโ€™s comprehensive public transport network, which includes S-Bahn trains and buses, makes it easy to travel across the city and surrounding areas.

Public transport in Salzburg is free for all UEFA Super Cup ticket holders from the first to last service on 12 August. If you are travelling outside this period, tickets can be purchased via the Salzburg Verkehr App or from ticket machines at transport stops.

Travelling by taxi to the stadium is not recommended due to considerable traffic restrictions in place around the venue. If you do choose to take a taxi, please note that there is one drop-off point near the stadium at Klessheim Walserweg.

If the match is decided after 90 minutes, the post-match ceremony and accompanying celebrations should finish by 23:30. If the scores are level after 90 minutes, a penalty shoot-out will determine the winners. Football is unpredictable and things can change. Please consider these times as estimates.
