Hjørring take the reins

Fortuna Hjørring 3-1 Arsenal LFC
Three goals in 24 minutes either side of half-time saw the Danish challengers establish an advantage.

Fortuna Hjørring took a step towards the UEFA Women's Cup final with a comfortable 3-1 semi-final first-leg victory against Arsenal LFC at the Hjørring Stadium today.

First defeat
A crowd of 2,384 watched the home side take the lead through Sharon Black three minutes before half-time and second-half goals from Alison Forman (48) and Christina Bonde (66) ensured Arsenal tasted defeat for the first time in this year's competition.

Brave Banks
Former English international Angela Banks, who conquered her fear of flying to jet out for the game, scored a 68th-minute consolation for the London-based club, who will hope to overturn the two-goal deficit during the return match at Barnet FC on 27 April.
