Stockholm start for showpiece final

Djurgården/Älvsjö will stage the first leg of the final on 15 May before travelling to 1. FFC Turbine Potsdam.

Capital fixture
The Stockholms Stadion in the Swedish capital is the venue for the opening fixture, which kicks off at 13.00CET on Sunday 15 May. Djurgården/Älvsjö, 2-1 aggregate victors against Arsenal LFC in the previous round, will hope to establish a lead ahead of what promises to be a testing trip to the Karl-Liebknecht-Stadion in Potsdam on Saturday 21 May (13.00CET).

Previous editions
Neither side has competed at this level before, although the three editions of the Women's Cup have each been won by a team from Germany or Sweden. In the augural final of 2002, 1. FFC Frankfurt defeated Umeå IK, before the Allsvenskan side triumphed in 2003 (against Fortuna Hjørring of Denmark) and again the following year, overcoming Frankfurt 5-0 on aggregate.

Record ended
Umeå's record of having reached every final was ended at the quarter-final stage this term as Malin Nykvist's second-leg goal sealed Djurgården/Älvsjö's passage to the last four. Potsdam eliminated FC Energy Voronezh of Russia in the last eight before breezing past SK Trondheims-Ørn in the semi-finals, the Norwegians bowing out 7-1 on aggregate.
