ASD Torres Calcio celebrated their progress to the UEFA Women's Champions League knockout phase by completing qualifying round Group 4 with a 3-0 win against hosts ŽNK Krka on Tuesday to end with a maximum nine points and 13 unanswered goals. The Italian side were pleased with a job well done while Krka took heart despite finishing bottom. Trabzonspor, Turkey's first European entrants, ended third after a 2-1 loss to Slovakia's FK Slovan Duslo Šaľa but were pleased with how things went.
Salvatore Arca, Torres coach
We came here planning to win and we did. We came across a good team and we struggled early on.
Giulia Domenichetti, Torres player
We knew the Slovan team, but not the others. All the teams were physically strong but we played our game and won.
Boris Devetak, Krka coach
I am only disappointed with the result and not the game. Before the tournament we did not know any of the teams. We did not have a chance to prepare with all our players. Based on our quality we should be second. We were not scared to play against Torres. My team played excellently, with Mimica Pavlović on the top, until she got a red card. We were fighting but beating Torres with one player less is impossible.
Polona Govek, Krka captain
The game was very hard. Torres are a much better team. In general I can say that we played well and did our best.
Hakan Yılmaz, Trabzonspor coach
We are a young team and we did not know the other teams, which were strong and much more experienced. We missed a lot of chances while fighting to win. We are satisfied with the result. It was a good experience for us and we will be better next year. Compliments to the organisation and congratulations to the Italian team.
