Olympique Lyonnais have set out their stall ahead of their UEFA Women's Champions League round of 16 tie with Fortuna Hjørring by signing Norwegian internationals Christine Nilsen and Isabell Hervolsen from Kolbotn IL.
Goalkeeping vacancy
Goalkeeper Nilsen, 27, arrives at a club where compatriot Bente Nordby finished her career this summer, while current No1 Sarah Bouhaddi is injured. Herlovsen, 21, was a key part of the Norway side which reached the UEFA WOMEN'S EURO 2009™ semi-finals, having also been in the squad that finished runners-up four years earlier, just like new club-mate Ingvild Stensland.
Last 16
Kolbotn, who will finish third in Norway this season, did not play in this season's UEFA Women's Champions League and Lyon will apply to register the duo in time for their tie against Danish champions Fortuna on 5 and 12 November, the second leg at Stade de Gerland. Lyon lead the French league with a perfect four wins and 20 unanswered goals.
