Olympique Lyonnais secured the last available berth in next Friday's UEFA Women's Champions League quarter-final draw after completing a 6-0 aggregate round of 16 defeat of Denmark's Fortuna Hjørring.

Second leg
Lyon led the tie 1-0 going into Thursday's second leg at the Stade de Gerland but ran out more comfortable 5-0 victors in the return. Three goals in the first 36 minutes put the tie beyond doubt. Élodie Thomis latched on to a Shirley Cruz Trana through ball before rounding Heidi Johansen to open the scoring on eleven minutes. Lotta Schelin scored the second in a similar manner, before Louisa Nécib's corner was headed in by Corine Franco.

Pace vital
The French side added two more goals in the final nine minutes, Schelin completing her double and substitute Katia converting a Lara Dickenman cross from the left with her first touch to round off a handsome victory. "The first leg was much tougher due to their physical strength and strong challenges," said Lyon coach Farid Benstiti. "But what we planned today was applied very well. We knew speed was the key."

Draw
Semi-finalists in both their UEFA Women's Cup entries over the last two seasons, Lyon are joined in the next stage by teams including compatriots Montpellier Hérault SC, reigning European champions FCR 2001 Duisburg and former titleholders 1. FFC Turbine Potsdam, Arsenal LFC and Umeå IK. The draw for the remainder of the competition is made at 12.00CET on 20 November in Nyon and the quarter-finals played on 10 and 17 March. The semi-finals are in April with the decider in Madrid on 20 May, two days before the men's UEFA Champions League showpiece in the same city.
