Germany midfielder Monique Kerschowski will miss the rest of 1. FFC Turbine Potsdam's UEFA Women's Champions League campaign after being ruled out for several months through injury.

The 22-year-old was hurt during Potsdam's 5-1 Frauen-Bundesliga win at Hamburger SV on Sunday, a result that left them five points clear of UEFA Women's Champions League semi-final opponents FCR 2001 Duisburg. A scan on Monday morning revealed she had torn cruciate ligaments in her left knee, the second time Kerschowski has suffered that injury and the same problem that has ruled out her twin sister Isabel since September.

"I'm just trying to look forward," said Kerschowski. "I know what lies ahead and I want to be back playing again as soon as possible, but it's going to be a long road to recovery." Potsdam face Duisburg in the German Cup semi-finals on Saturday before their two-legged European encounter on 11 and 18 April.
