Women's Champions League second qualifying round draw

In the UEFA Women's Champions League second qualifying round draw, the 20 winners from the first qualifying round were paired in ten one-legged ties to be played on 18 and 19 November. Those games will decide which teams progress to join the 22 clubs seeded to the last 32.

• Glasgow City reached the quarter-finals for the second time last season; Valur made that stage in 2005/06
• Glasgow won 3-1 at Valur in the 2011/12 round of 32 to complete a 4-1 aggregate win
• Minsk beat Vllzania 3-0 in Sarajevo in the 2015/16 qualifying round
• Minsk (last term), Gintra Universitetas and Olimpia Cluj have previously got to the round of 16
• Last season Vllaznia were the first team from Albania to contest the round of 32
• Along with Glasgow, Minsk and Vllaznia, St. Pölten and ŽFK Spartak made the last 32 in 2019/20
• Sarajevo are entering for a joint-record 18th season and, as with round of 32 contenders Brøndby, those 18 seasons are consecutive
• Lanchkhuti are the first Georgian side to win a game in this competition
• Debutants: Benfica, CSKA Moskva, Lanchkhuti, Vålerenga

Draw procedure

The UEFA administration formed groups for the draw based on these principles:

• Seeding of clubs based on the club coefficient rankings
• In every group an equal number of seeded and unseeded teams
• Other elements such as Covid-19 travel restrictions and geographical approach

The 20 teams were dividedinto five groups of four teams. Within the five groups, the 20 teams were divided equally into ten seeded teams and ten unseeded teams. The club drawn first plays the single leg of the tie at home.

• All clubs in the five groups were ordered randomly and identified by a number: 1 and 2 for seeded teams, 3 and 4 for unseeded teams
• Two bowls were prepared, one containing balls with slips of paper 1 and 2 for the seeds, the other with 3 and 4.
• A ball was taken from each bowl and placed in an empty bowl in the middle, where they were shuffled. One of the two balls was drawn at random and the teams assigned to that number were at home in their ties. The second ball was drawn to complete the pairing, which applies to all five groups.
• This was repeated for the remaining balls.
