Chelsea will aim to continue their perfect Group B record on Matchday 5 against Twente, who can no longer reach the UEFA Women's Champions League quarter-finals .

A 2-3 defeat at home to Real Madrid on 20 November ended Twente's qualification hopes, while Chelsea's 3-0 success against Celtic at Stamford Bridge ensured they will feature in the knockout stage.

Chelsea will be confirmed as Group B winners if they beat Twente and Real Madrid do not win at Celtic, or if Chelsea draw and Real Madrid lose.

Previous meetings

Twente's first-ever group stage contest at home ended in a 1-3 defeat by Chelsea on Matchday 2. Agnes Beever-Jones and Maika Hamano struck in the first half for the Blues before a Guro Reiten penalty extended the lead in the second period. Nikée van Dijk's 68th-minute goal was Twente's only reply.

Chelsea navigated their way past Ajax in last season's quarter-finals, their sole previous meeting against Dutch opposition prior to the Matchday 2 win at Twente. A team managed by Emma Hayes won the first leg in Amsterdam 3-0 on 19 March thanks to goals from Lauren James (19) and Sjoeke Nüsken (44, 83).

The Stamford Bridge return on 27 March ended level, Mayra Ramírez striking first just after the half-hour before Chasity Grant's second-half strike ensured a draw on the night, Chelsea progressing 4-1 on aggregate.

Chelsea have beaten Real Madrid (3-2 h) and Celtic twice (2-1 a, 3-0 h) in addition to their win against Twente in the season's group stage; they have scored three goals in three of their four victories.

Reiten and Hamano are Chelsea's joint-top scorers in this season's group stage with two goals apiece.

Chelsea were Women's Champions League runners-up in 2021, losing 4-0 to Barcelona in the Gothenburg final.

The same opponents eliminated Chelsea at the semi-final stage in the last two editions of the Women's Champions League, 1-2 the aggregate score on both occasions.

Chelsea have reached the last four or better in five of the previous seven seasons.

They have lost just one of their 22 group matches (W16 D5).

Last season the Blues claimed the Women's Super League title for the fifth season in succession and seventh overall. They won the title on goal difference after finishing level on points with Manchester City.

The reverse fixture on Matchday 2 was Twente's first against a team from England.

After winning 2-0 at Celtic in their Group B opener, Twente have lost their last three Champions League fixtures, including their biggest-ever European defeat on Matchday 3 when they lost 0-7 at Real Madrid. They were leading the Matchday 4 return through Jaimy Ravensbergen (29), but by the time Sophie te Brake scored Twente's second (90+6), their opponents had already struck three times.

This is the Dutch side's tenth Women's Champions League appearance but the first time they have reached the group stage.

Under the previous format they reached the round of 16 on three occasions, most recently in 2019/20 when they lost to eventual runners-up Wolfsburg 0-7 (0-6 a, 0-1 h). Barcelona were their conquerors on the two previous occasions they reached the same stage – in 2015/16 and 2016/17.

After a 7-0 victory over Cardiff City to kick off their 2024/25 Women's Champions League campaign on 4 September, Charlotte Hulst and Van Dijk both scored twice in a 5-0 victory over Valur three days later in the round 1 final.

Twente's round 2 encounter with Croatian champions Osijek was another one-sided affair. Van Dijk was again on target in a 4-1 first-leg victory on 18 September, before the Tukkers again scored four in the second leg in Netherlands to complete an 8-1 aggregate win.

Twente won a record-extending ninth Dutch league title last term, losing just twice in their 22 games to finish two points ahead of previous champions Ajax.

Key facts

Chelsea are unbeaten in their last 16 group stage matches (W13 D3) and have won their last seven.

The Blues have won eight and drawn three of their previous 11 home group games.

Chelsea have lost only one of their last 15 European fixtures (W10 D4).

Victory for Chelsea would make it five successive Women's Champions League wins for only the second time, equalling their best sequence set in 2018/19.

Despite losing their last three matches, Twente's record in the Women's Champions League this season is W5 L3.

The Dutch club have only failed to score in one of their last 14 European games.
