Lyon and Wolfsburg meet in France on Matchday 6 as they complete UEFA Women's Champions League Group A.
Both sides scored six in their respective Matchday 5 encounters on 11 December, Lyon winning 6-0 against Galatasaray in Istanbul while Wolfsburg recorded a 6-1 home success against Roma.
Lyon are guaranteed to finish top of Group A with Wolfsburg also through to the quarter-finals as runners-up having sealed progress with that Matchday 5 victory.

The reverse fixture on Matchday 2 ended in victory for the visitors thanks to goals from Wendie Renard and Lindsey Horan, a penalty, on 17 October.

Lyon prevailed on penalties in Reggio Emilia, Italy after Hegerberg's early strike was cancelled out by Popp two minutes from time. Popp converted Wolfsburg's first kick in the shoot-out while Hegerberg missed for Lyon, but the French side scored their other four penalties to lift the trophy.

Before this season, Lyon's last contest with a German side was a 1-0 defeat at Bayern in the 2021/22 group stage that is their only defeat in their last eight meetings with German opponents (W7).
Aside from the 2017 quarter-final defeat against Wolfsburg, Lyon's only other home reverse to a German opponent was a 1-2 loss to Potsdam in the 2013/14 round of 16.
Lyon boast the best defensive record in this season's group stage with just one goal conceded in their five games. They have scored 18 goals in victories against Galatasaray (3-0 h, 6-0 a) and Roma (3-0 a, 4-1 h) in addition to the Matchday 2 win at Wolfsburg.
The French outfit reached a record 11th final last season, losing 0-2 to Barcelona in Bilbao. Their last success in the competition came when they defeated the same opponents 3-1 in the 2022 final in Turin – their eighth win overall.
In 2023/24, Lyon drew with Brann and Slavia Praha (both 2-2) but won their other four Group B fixtures to finish first in a section that also contained St. Pölten.
In her first season at the club, Kadidiatou Diani topped the scoring charts in the Women's Champions League last season with eight goals – two more than team-mate Ada Hegerberg, the competition's all-time record scorer. Diani has four goals in this season's group stage, one more than Renard.

Wolfsburg won on their first two visits to France but have just one victory in their last four (D1 L2).
