Twente and Chelsea meet in the UEFA Women's Champions League for the second season in a row as they kick off the league phase in Enschede.

Paired together in Group B last season, Aggie Beever-Jones, Maika Hamano and Guro Reiten helped Chelsea to a 3-1 victory in Enschede on Matchday 2. The Blues were also victorious in London on Matchday 5 with Catarina Macario, Oriane Jean-François, Mayra Ramírez and Sjoeke Nüsken among the scorers in a 6-1 win at Stamford Bridge.
Chelsea's only other encounters with Dutch opposition came in a two-legged 2023/24 quarter-final when they defeated Ajax 3-0 in Amsterdam before a 1-1 draw in London. They have therefore never lost to a Dutch team (W3 D1).
Twente's group stage defeats by Chelsea last season are their only previous matches against an English club.
Twente finished third in Group B last season, beating Celtic twice (2-0 a, 3-0 h) but losing both games to Chelsea and Real Madrid (0-7 a, 2-3 h) on their group stage debut. They reached the round of 16 on three occasions under a previous format of the competition, most recently in 2019/20 when they lost 0-7 on aggregate to eventual runners-up Wolfsburg (0-6 a, 0-1 h).
The Dutch side began their European campaign this season in the second qualifying round, beating Crvena Zvezda (6-0) and Breidablik (2-0) before an 8-1 aggregate success against Polish side Katowice (4-0 a, 4-1 h) in the third qualifying round.
Chelsea were Women's Champions League runners-up in 2021, losing 0-4 to Barcelona in the Gothenburg final.
The Blues have reached the last four or better in four of the previous five seasons, and in six of their last seven participations. In 2024/25 they maintained a 100% record in Group B with wins over Real Madrid (3-2 h, 2-1 a), Twente and Celtic (2-1 a, 3-0 h) before a comeback victory in an all-English quarter-final against Manchester City (0-2 a, 3-0 h) only to come up short against Barcelona (1-4 a, 1-4 h) in the last four.
