Atlético de Madrid and Juventus are both three points ahead of their contest in Spain on UEFA Women's Champions League Matchday 3.

This the first meeting between the sides, as well as Atleti's first game against Italian opposition.
Juventus' only previous games against a Spanish team came in 2019/20, where they lost 1-4 on aggregate to Barcelona in the round of 32 (0-2 h, 1-2 a).
Having reached the quarter-finals under the previous format in 2019/20, where they lost to fellow Spanish side Barcelona 0-1 in a one-off tie, Atlético de Madrid are making their first appearance in the group stage/league phase.
Synne Jensen stuck in extra time – Luany having levelled with a penalty deep into added time – to give Atlético a 2-1 victory over Häcken in the second leg of their third qualifying round tie in Madrid. The Spanish side won 3-2 on aggregate after a 1-1 first-leg draw, Luany also on target in Gothenburg.
This is the Italian side's eighth successive season in European competition since their debut in 2018/19. A run to the quarter-finals in 2021/22, when they lost to eventual champions OL Lyonnes, is their best showing to date.
Juve participated in the group stage in three of the last four seasons and recorded two wins and four losses in Group C last season, finishing behind winners Arsenal and Bayern but ahead of Vålerenga.
