Match in brief: Bayern's late comeback eliminates debutants United
Both coaches tweaked their starting line-ups from the first legs, with Momoko Tanikawa, who scored the winning goal at Old Trafford, coming in for Bayern, while Jayde Riviere and Simi Awujo joined Man United's starting 11.
The visitors started on the front foot, and Melvine Malard forced a strong save from Bayern goalkeeper Ena Mahmutovic with a first-time strike five minutes in.
The French forward levelled the tie on aggregate six minutes later, running onto Riviere's through ball and capitalising when Mahmutovic's attempted interception ricocheted off Bayern defender Vanessa Gilles, leaving Malard to roll the ball into an empty net.
Malard had her third chance shortly afterwards, testing Mahmutovic with a curling strike, and Gilles blocked an attempt from Fridolina Rolfö as United continued putting the hosts under pressure.
Bayern emerged re-energised after the half-time interval. Pernille Harder performed a deft turn-and-shoot move in the box, but Phallon Tullis-Joyce reacted quickly to block the ball with her outstretched leg.
Further Bayern attempts followed and the hosts found their flow, with Tanikawa executing a delightful back-heeled pass to Harder, who shot wide from close range, and Millie Turner needing to block an effort from Giulia Gwinn.
The hosts continually threatened from corners and eventually got the breakthrough when Carolin Simon's delivery was headed in by Glódís Viggósdóttir with nine minutes of the 90 remaining.
Three minutes later, another Simon corner was converted when Viggósdóttir's blocked attempt was followed up by Linda Dallmann to wrap up the victory.
Vodafone Player of the Match: Linda Dallmann
"She was always on the move, with good, creative moments. She was skilful and dynamic in and out of possession, and made a big impact in the second half. Created a lot of good 1v1s and 2v1 opportunities, scored a great goal and made some key passes."

Bayern kept Man Utd pinned back inside their own area for much of the second half, but it took a corner – their 12th of the night – to put them on course for victory, with Glódís Viggósdóttir heading in before Linda Dallmann's strike sealed the win. The visitors fought bravely but ultimately fell to the relentless pressure of their hosts. A fine spectacle.
Reaction
José Barcala, Bayern coach: "It was a special moment for all of us in front of our fans. I was nervous before the game, and during the game as well, when you see that the team is not showing their best version. We just need to accept the emotions, stay together, just focus on what we can control as a staff and as a team."
Marc Skinner, Man United coach: "[We played] 45 minutes of really high-level football, and in the second half it was just down to fatigue and tiredness. They did not stop running; they were doing everything they could.
"When you run the legs out, you start making decisions, you open up spaces and Bayern can attack you. There was brilliant defending, great saves and then to lose it on two set pieces is disappointing."
Linda Dallmann, Bayern goalscorer and Player of the Match: "I think it was a game of two halves. We weren't present enough in the first half, didn't have many touches, didn't trust ourselves enough. The second half was much better. We kept Man United pinned back, had plenty of possession and enjoyed our football, which is exactly what defines us. That's why I think, in the end, it was a deserved win."
Maya Le Tissier, Man United captain: "We fight for each other; we roll our sleeves up when things get tough. Players have stepped in who maybe didn't think they would get a look in at the start of the season, and now they're playing in Munich in a quarter-final. So hats off to everyone, but of course we're disappointed."
Franziska Kett, Bayern defender: "We're extremely happy to have reached the semi-finals. We knew that it would be a tough match tonight, but we played at home, in front of so many fans who were here to support us. We're just delighted to have progressed. We spent some time working on our set pieces over the last few days because we knew that it's one of our strengths. We're glad that it worked out tonight."
