Barcelona have home advantage against Bayern München for the second leg of their UEFA Women's Champions League semi-final, with the tie finely poised at 1-1.
Barcelona took an eighth-minute lead through Ewa Pajor in the first leg on 25 April, but Franziska Kett levelled for Bayern in the 69th minute, ten minutes before she was sent off, in what was the first-ever draw between the clubs.
Bayern finished in fourth position in the league phase (W4 D1 L1) to qualify directly for the quarter-finals, defeating Manchester United 5-3 on aggregate in the last eight (3-2 a, 2-1 h).
Barcelona reached this stage for the eighth season in succession by overcoming domestic rivals Real Madrid 12-2 on aggregate in the quarter-finals (6-2 a, 6-0 h); they were top of the league phase standings with an unbeaten record of five wins and one draw.

Barcelona have won four of their six meetings with Bayern, their last contest before the first leg a 7-1 victory in Spain on Matchday 1 of this season's league phase. Alexia Putellas (3), Pajor (12 56), Esmee Brugts (27), Salma Paralluelo (45+1) and Clàudia Pina (88 90+2) were on target for the hosts on 7 October, Klara Bühl (32) supplying Bayern's only reply.
All three meetings between the sides in Spain have ended in victory for Barça, who scored 11 goals in those matches to Bayern's one.
Barça triumphed 1-0 both away and at home in the 2018/19 semi-finals – the only previous knockout tie between the teams – while Aitana Bonmatí and Pina were among the scorers in a 3-0 home victory for the Spanish side in the 2022/23 group stage.. Bayern won the reverse fixture, Bühl helping them to a 3-1 victory in Munich – the last time the teams met in Germany.
Barça lost three of their first five encounters with German sides but had won six in a row before the first-leg draw. They have been victorious in three of their four two-legged ties with German teams, recording a 10-2 aggregate triumph over Wolfsburg in last season's quarter-finals (4-1 a, 6-1 h). They also beat Wolfsburg 3-2 in the 2023 final in Eindhoven.
Barça were beaten in their first home match against German visitors – 0-2 to Wolfsburg in the second leg of a 2013/14 quarter-final to complete a 0-5 aggregate defeat – but have won their last seven, most recently that Matchday 1 success against Bayern.
Bayern's record against Spanish opponents is W3 D2 L4. Their most recent trip to Spain resulted in a 2-2 draw with Atlético de Madrid on Matchday 5 this season, making it just one victory from their five visits overall (D1 L3).
Aside from their semi-final exit to Barcelona in April 2019, Bayern's only other two-legged contest against a Spanish team was a 4-1 aggregate success against Real Sociedad in a 2022/23 round 2 tie (1-0 a, 3-1 h).
This is Barcelona's 14th Women's Champions League campaign – all in succession. Three-time winners, they have reached the final in six of the past seven editions as well as five in succession – a record they share with OL Lyonnes. Their successes came in the span of four seasons, beating Chelsea in 2021 (4-0), Wolfsburg in 2023 (3-2) and OL in 2024 (2-0).
Barcelona are in a record eighth consecutive Women's Champions League semi-final; this is their ninth appearance at this stage overall. They have won six of their previous eight ties, including the last five; their most recent defeat at this stage came in 2019/20, a 0-1 single-leg loss to Wolfsburg.
Runners-up to Arsenal in last season's final in Lisbon (0-1) in what was their 100th European game, Barca finished top of Group D on 15 points before navigating their way past Wolfsburg in the last eight and Chelsea in the semi-finals (4-1 h, 4-1 a).
This is Bayern's 12th Women's Champions League appearance, their first coming in 2009/10. This is the 11th season in a row in which they have taken part.
Bayern have reached the semi finals of this competition for the third time and were beaten in both of their previous appearances at this stage: 0-2 on aggregate by Barcelona in 2018/19 and 3-5 by Chelsea in 2020/21 (2-1 h, 1-4 a).
Finishing second in a group containing winners Arsenal, Juventus and Vålerenga last season, Bayern lost 1-6 on aggregate to eight-time winners OL Lyonnes in the quarter-finals (0-2 h, 1-4 a).
