Juventus make a first trip to Sweden to take on Häcken on UEFA Women's Champions League Matchday 2 with both teams looking to bounce back from opening defeats.

Häcken's first-ever league phase encounter ended in a 0-1 loss at Inter, who struck the only goal of the game in the fifth minute in Monza. The visitors were reduced to ten players late on when goalkeeper Jennifer Falk was sent off.

For the second season running Juventus met Benfica on Matchday 1, this time going down 1-2 in Turin, summer signing Alba Redondo (86) scoring a late consolation goal.

Last match

This is the first meeting between the teams.

Häcken's only previous Italian opponents are their Matchday 1 conquerors Inter. They also faced the Milan club in last season's UEFA Women's Europa Cup, winning the round of 16 tie 1-0 on aggregate (1-0 h, 0-0 a).

Juventus have also contested a fixture against a Swedish team this season, beating Hammarby 3-1 after extra time at home in the second qualifying round. That was their first game involving Swedish opponents.

Häcken

One of only two Swedish winners of a UEFA women's club competition alongside Umeå, Häcken won the first edition of the Women's Europa Cup last season, beating national rivals Hammarby 4-2 on aggregate in a two-legged final (1-0 a, 3-2 h). They had entered that competition after being eliminated 2-3 on aggregate by Atlético de Madrid in the final round of Women's Champions League qualifying (1-1 h, 1-2 a aet).

Häcken have reached the quarter-finals of the Women's Champions League thre times, in 2011/12, 2012/13 and most recently 2023/24, when they were beaten 1-5 by Paris Saint-Germain (1-2 h, 0-3 a).

Juventus

This is the Italian side's ninth successive season in European competition since their debut in 2018/19. A run to the quarter-finals in 2021/22, when they lost 3-4 on aggregate to eventual champions OL Lyonnes, is their best showing to date. Juve were eliminated 2-4 on aggregate by Wolfsburg in the knockout phase play-offs last season (2-2 a, 0-2 h), having finished eighth in the inaugural league phase with the record W3 D1 L2.

In qualifying for this season's league phase, Juve beat SCU Torreense (2-1) and Hammarby (3-1 aet) in the second qualifying round and then defeated St. Pölten 4-1 on aggregate in the third (3-0 a, 1-1 h).
